The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) used DTS in-dummy data acquisition systems for a research project aimed at reducing sports-related concussions and traumatic brain injuries. Researchers built an 80-foot railed track with a motorized sled to recreate impact scenarios and analyzed game footage to identify and test “worst-case” collisions.

DID YOU KNOW? DTS SLICE NANO used to capture critical data during Professor Splash’s Guinness World Record for the highest shallow water dive. He dove from an 11-meter platform into 30 cm of water at 53 km/h, landing in a child’s inflatable pool. The data recorder, powered by a 9V battery, collected acceleration and strain data and was placed in a waterproof camera bag taped to his back.
